Beach is the new ramp!

Gionee India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW) at Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort

Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort was the happy venue for the Gionee India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW), where the beach is the new ramp, conceptualised by UVAR Global and supported by Goa Tourism. The splendid hotel at Candolim, Goa got an opportunity to showcase not just its expansive property and many outlets but also its fantastic cuisine as guests savoured the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. It turned out to be an affair to remember with over 30 designers showcasing their creations and more than 50 pop-up shops, attended by influencers from the lifestyle and luxury industry and infused with the Goa party vibe to create the ultimate fashion, retail and party event property. It was three days packed with fashion, fun and fiesta.

Breezy finale

Shane and Falguni Peacock at the grand finale of the IBFW at La Brise

While all the shows of the Gionee India beach Fashion Week (IBFW) was held at Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort, the grand finale shifted to La Brise, a beachside property owned by Novotel, part of the Accor group. It was a splendid setting with the starlit sky above, a long ramp down the lawn and models sashaying their way in this beautiful and breezy show. It was the ‘Runaway Bride’ collection from designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock with the superb sounds of DJs Nina and Malika of Elektrovertz adding to the action. On view was beautiful bridal wear that showcased the Peacock Bride as a woman who is sexy, stylish, daring, yet elegant and traditional. And after the show it was time to live it up at the after-party.

Bigger and better

Cecilia Oldne and Manasi Scott at Sula Fest

The Sula Fest is growing bigger and better with every year. This heady mix of music, wine, food and much more came alive at the Sula Vineyards open-air amphitheatre over two days. It was a gourmet world music festival at its very best that saw close to 11,000 party people who thoroughly enjoyed a weekend to remember. Some mesmerising music, wonderful wine and other delightful drinks, fabulous food, a fashion feast and shopping spree was what it was at the idyllic environs of the winery’s open-air Greek-style amphitheatre in Nashik. One of the highlights of the Sula Fest was the fashion show with Vero Moda launching its spring/ summer collection. And it was felt that this year’s artist line-up befitted a true ‘world music festival’ with the freshest acts – a mix of nationwide and internationally celebrated artistes.
