Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas’ second resort in Sri Lanka, the 141-key resort is located along the island’s southwest coast. Only 10 minutes from the town of Kalutara and an hour south of the capital Colombo, Anantara Kalutara has a unique setting between the Indian Ocean and Kalu River and boasts coastal, river and lagoon frontage. The resort was originally designed by Sri Lanka’s notable architect, the late Geoffrey Bawa. A range of leisure facilities is available for guests, whereas the watersports centre offers jet skiing, water skiing and banana rides. The resort features three F&B venues, which offer Indian, Thai, Chinese, Sri Lankan, and Italian cuisines. Other facilities at the property include a gym, two swimming pools, a library and Anantara Spa. Expected to open in March 2017, a conference centre will be able to accommodate 500 delegates and up to 300 for a banquet. There are additional meeting rooms.
