The Serai Bandipur Resort will be conducting a series of three day workshops – Shutterbug 2014 held from July 17- 19, 2014. The workshop will be conducted by photographer Sudhir Shivaram and is aimed at photography enthusiasts and budding amateurs who want to learn the nuances of capturing images of the wild. Participants will be given an overview of the basic concepts of photography, an insight into the natural history of the location and the subjects and how to shoot them. The participants will be made aware of ethical aspects of wildlife and nature photography.
While the workshop at The Serai Bandipur will introduce photographers to myriad forms of wildlife found in the dense forests at the foothills of the Western Ghats and will enable participants to capture on lens the varied species of migrating birds which flock this scenic countryside during the season. In addition to this, the workshop will also focus upon landscape, star trail, time lapse and night photography.

Speaking about the workshop, Sudhir Shivaram, said, “Wildlife photography has several nuances to it and the behaviour of every subject matter differs and needs to be studied. This workshop will teach photographers about the various aspects of wildlife photography and the difference between taking images and making images. It will also stress on the need to understand and gain knowledge about the behaviour of different creatures of the wildlife and pay heed to certain guidelines associated with wildlife photography.”
