Mumbai-based Mirah Hospitality is ready to launch London’s dim sum chain – Ping Pong – in Mumbai this December. Set up in 2005, Ping Pong chain currently operates 13 restaurants across the globe in London, Sao Paulo, Dubai and Washington DC. Gaurav Goenka, MD, Mirah Hospitality said, “Considering dim sum is a very popular and traditional Asian dish it surprised us that it was not readily available in India. Doing what it does best, Mirah spotted the market potential and decided to bring Ping Pong’s dim sum to India’s financial centre.”
Daniel During, managing partner of Ping Pong said, “After our initial expansion into the Americas, Europe and the Middle East, the Asian market was obviously the next step in Ping Pong’s growth. Mirah hospitality understands and has expertise of the Indian food and beverage sector, as well as a great passion for successful brands, making Mirah an obvious partner for Ping Pong.” Diners will be able choose from an extensive menu containing over 50 dim sum dishes which includes a series of set menus with baked, steamed and fried item and a dessert.Vegetarians will have a range of dishes to choose from which include a ‘healthy fix’ set menu for the health-conscious diner which is only 487 calories.
