Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa gets a new campus

Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, the Indian network school of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) Switzerland, has opened up a new 67,000 sq ft state-of-the-art campus at Lavasa to meet the growing demands of highly skilled hospitality professionals. The campus was inaugurated on August 9, 2013 by Prof. Michel Rochat, general director of EHL.

The institute will include the world class facilities like Wi-Fi enabled multimedia classrooms, wine testing labs, Garde manager, demo kitchens, mock guest rooms, IT lab, housekeeping lab training and  amphitheatre. It will also include restaurants in various forms such as De France restaurant, Kitchens of the World restaurant, Coffee Bar and a fast food restaurant to enable the students enhance their skills and gain practical knowledge.

Another occasion for celebration for the institute was the convocation of its first batch of students where 21 students received their certificates for a four-year undergraduate programme in Hospitality Management by Prof Michal Rochat. Yateendra Singh, CEO of Lausanne Hospitality said that the students have gone through an intense curriculum to meet the needs of trained and qualified individuals. On this occasion Raymond Bickson, managing director and CEO, Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces and Jean-Michel Casse, senior vice president – Operations of Accor Hospitality India presented the students with the awards.
